Dr. Green is a registered Professional Engineer in South Carolina. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) since his undergraduate days at Columbia University, School of Engineering and Applied Science where he earned his BSCE in 1977. He received his Master’s Degree in 1979 and Doctorate at Lehigh University a little more than 20 years later. After receiving his PhD he taught at the University of Florida in Gainesville for several years before leaving to become the first, full-time Technical Director of the Steel Joist Institute (SJI).
As Technical Director, Dr. Green was instrumental in the preparation of the 42nd and 43rd Editions of the Steel Joist Catalog as well as the First Edition of the Composite Steel Joist Catalog.
